Suspended License Tour    Part 1    go to Part 2  go to Part 3   go to Part 4

Well it didn't start out as a suspended license tour, unfortunately it unded up that way.  It all started out the thursday before the Skatopia party with the passenger pickup at the Columbus Ohio airport.  Picking up Benji Galloway, Ben Butler, and Caylen Dakin.

First Stop:  Skatopia                            video  Skatopia, Athens, and Powell Ohio  Windows Media  7.5mb

So far so good, arrived a little early and circled the airport drive 3 or 4 times and then BOOM, there they are.  I had made preparations before hand to make sure they have a proper ride to Skatopia.

Ben Butler was so excited, he was a blur while drying the kidney.  Isn't this how everybody dry's out their leaky pool?

So here's Psycho with the one footed frontside head tap in the big bowl at Skatopia.  Psycho spent the week before the party operating the bulldozer, grading the area around the Lula Bowl.

14 year old Ben Hatchell, totally killing the big bowl at Skatopia.  This party was all about mud and the kids.  Just check out the pant legs of the people lurking, another Mudtopia.

Grant, a long time Skatopia Warrior giving a thumbs up frontside grind to the party.

The muddy walk from the top to the bowl, always an adventure.  We have Tater tot, Nick the Mechanic, Brewce (one of the few that can pull off the pink concstruction helmet), Eldestructo Tom, Eve (Tom's hot girl friend), in back left to right "The German" that rides a snake board, and Shawn, he's got Tom's back.  Did I mention that Eve is hot?

Brewce opened up the Museum for a little while during the party.  Check out Rainer, he's from Germany, the previous night he was skating the big bowl with his snake board going really fast then whammo, he went down.

"Skatopia Morgan" as he is beginning to be known as.  Morgan is 11 years old ripping like he's in his 20's.  I remember seing him at Louisville on opening day, just learning to skate.  3 years later and going huge.

Brandon Martin, Heir to the Skatopia Throne.  I think a frontside fastplant over the hip, or something where he takes his back foot off.  Check out the mud on the pant's and the board.  Lots of clay in the mud, helps keep the feet glued to the board!

Here's Halo showing that Girls can Grind this bowl.  You get your grind girl!  You should see her in the fullpipe, she will fakie higher than 95% of the guys I've seen ride it.

The beer raid posse has been assembled.  The beer raid usually takes place on Saturday night around 4am, a posse is assembled to go to each campsite and liberate the left over beers.  The theory being:  If your passed out and have left over beers then you don't deserve them, there's plenty of people doing without.  Plus, leaving the party Sunday morning, there's a good chance your gonna be stopped by the cops, so the raid is actually doing you a favor!

Holding down the Bowels of the Devil while the beer raid is taking place, Maintenance man Bill.

Ben asked me for a dollar, and I said man what do you need a dollar for, it's free, read the sign.

The Posse returned from the beer raid, not totally unscathed though.  Evidently someone that was being raided threw a can at Benji giving him a laceration.  Word is the guy ran away afterwards. Good times.

Another tradition, the Sunday morning road block.  The road block is a mandatory stop on your way out of the party.  It's the last chance for Skatopia to do some fund raising activities, Brewce has an inspection to see that people are leaving with a shirt, hat, skateboard, etc....gotta pay for the party and the terrain somehow.

It was great to see Crazy Joe back at Skatopia.  Crazy Joe had been fighting Cancer for a while and has beat it down into remission.  He road a greyhound bus to get to the party.  Glad to see you doing well and making the trip up again!

What else can you say but that this place is BALZOUT!

This car has seen better day's, though, this weekend it had a blast!

Well in a nutshell, that was Skatopia's Backwoods Blowout XI.  I came out of the party unscathed, and very happy about that,  Next, we had a short stop at the Athens Ohio Grindline skatepark on the way to dropping off Ben Butler and Caylen Dakin at the Columbus airport.  Benji was continuing with the tour.
